Laura Armistead grew up in South Georgia before moving to Nashville to study elementary education at Vanderbilt University. She later earned a Master of Arts in Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University. Laura has almost 30 years of educational experience and has taught in public, private, church and home-school settings. She is an author, curriculum developer, teacher trainer and college coach. Because of her passion for equipping parents and students for success, she started a company, YouDoU!, to ease the pressure parents and students feel about the college application and admissions process.
Laura has home-schooled all four of her children for some portion of their education, and each of them attended FCA. She also has served as a volunteer at her church in women’s ministry, children’s ministry, and as a small-group leader. In addition, she has served on the PTO for Brentwood Middle and Brentwood High School.
Laura and her husband, Wade, have lived in the Brentwood area for almost 25 years. They have four children ranging in age from 10 to 21, and a beloved dog named Toby. Laura enjoys reading, cooking, water-skiing, paddle boarding and spending time with friends and family.
