The History of FCA
Foundations Christian Academy was started with an idea on a playground. Within a week of the initial idea, God brought together five families and one dedicated instructor to plan and prepare for a new homeschool academy.
On Monday, June 8, 2009, the kids went to VBS and the moms met for the first time to make lists and brainstorm. By the end of the week, a name and idea was solidified but many questions were waiting to be answered. Throughout the summer, obstacles rose and God resolved every single one – not always in the way expected but always in His timing (and sometimes at the very last minute.) While these families and instructor did the initial planning, 50 families and 9 other faculty members signed on for the adventure and provided encouragement, ideas, contacts, and prayer support! When the doors officially opened three months later on September 11, 2009, 86 students, 10 faculty members and many parents joined to celebrate what God had put together that summer. The journey didn’t stop there, however. God continued to provide exactly what was needed throughout that year academically, financially, and administratively as every step was new and a step of faith.
